And Header

The And Header

The word "and" makes a very poor first word in a sentence because you are attempting to use it as an adverbial inroductory word. You can't do that because "and" is a conjunction, so to use it first tends to make your sentence appear as a fragment.

My advice is not to use "and" as the first word in a sentence, unless you are planning to use the comma + and structure to connect that sentence to the prior one.

Example:

original
I'm quite angry about what Alexander has done. And I will be angry for a long time, too.

Fix #1
I'm quite angry about what Alexander has done. I will be angry for a long time, too.

Fix #2
I'm quite angry about what Alexander has done, and I will be angry for a long time, too.
