Lambda Gamma is The English Honor Society for University Freshmen and Sophomores sponsored by Zeta Psi Chaper of Sigma Tau Delta. If you meet the qualifiers, we invite you to apply for Reception into the Society. We need the information below. This information will be kept confidential and will not be released to anyone. If you qualify and are accepted, you will be notified.

The Reception Fee and Lifetime Membership dues total a one-time payment of $10.00. Please attach a $10.00 check made to "Sigma Tau Delta." If you qualify and are accepted, your check will be deposited. If you do not qualify, your check will be returned.

Please complete the form, print it out, attach the Reception Fee, and bring the form to the main English Office in Ross Hall. The form will be given to:

Qualifiers
Qualifiers for Induction into Lambda Gamma

You must be a Freshman or Sophomore;

You must be an English major, minor, or educational emphasis student;

Sophomores must have a minimum 2.75/4.0 GPA, with no grade in English less than C.

Freshmen must have a minimum of 12 credits with a 2.75/4.0 GPA, with no grade in English less than C.

First semester Freshmen may hold Associate Membership and must have a high school GPA of 3.0/4.0 GPA, with no grade in English less than C. Associate Membership automatically become Full Membership when the Member meets Full Membership qualifications.

This application is my permission for the Faculty Sponsor to examine my transcript to determine my membership eligibility. If I am admitted to Lambda Gamma, I will regularly attend meetings and uphold the purposes of the society. I also plan to apply for Induction into Sigma Tau Delta if I qualify for membership.
