As an international Order of Chivalry, the RMOKHSJ draws upon the Officers of its Supreme Council for guidance. The Officers represent a broad spectrum of occupations and accomplishments.

The Sovereign Grand Master

His Grace

The Duke is Full Professor of English at The University of Northern Colorado and former Chair of the Department. A recipient of many awards for teaching and scholarship, the Count's areas of specialty are Modern Irish and British Literature and Gothic Literature. He has published many scholarly articles and book chapters in these fields. The Duke is also a specialist in document handling and document verification and authentification, having received training in this area in the Special Collections Division of Morris Library at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he worked on the papers in the private collection of novelist John Gardner (author of Grendel and Nickel Mountain), as well as the private papers of Irish playwright Lennox Robinson. The Duke's expertise in document verification led to his discovery of a play by Robinson which was produced at the National Theatre of Ireland under a pseudonym. Extensive coverage of this discovery was published in The Journal of Irish Literature. In the field of Chivalry, the Dukes's expertise has been called into use many times, for His Excellency has had the opportunity to examine and give evidence concerning the authenticity of numerous chivalric and royal documents and genealogies.
