Dame Connie Willis, DCHS and the Count Grand Master
In honor of her outstanding contributions to modern literature, Dame Connie Willis was elevated to the rank of Dame Commander of the Holy Sepulchre. Dame Willis has written several best-selling novels, including The Doomsday Book, Remake, and To Say Nothing of the Dog (available from Amazon.com).
Chev. Captain Nnaji (left) and Chev. Butler (right) Receive Distinguished Honors
Left: The Right Excellent Chevalier Sir Ndubuisi Nnaji (Nigeria), Chancellor of the Supreme Council, was appointed as the first Captain of the Honor Guard. The Honor Guard is an exclusive honor body within the Order of the Holy Sepulchre and is comprised of Knights who have dedicated their lives to the defense of the Order and the Grand Master. The Chevalier Captain Sir Ndubuisi Nnaji is the first Knight to hold the Office of Captain of the Honor Guard.
Right: The Right Excellent Chevalier Sir A. Fred Butler, in recognition of outstanding service to Chivalry, received the distinguished honor of being admitted as a Grand Commander of the Bear of Alabona, a Royal Order of Merit under the gift of HRSH Prince William de Alabona-Ostrogojsk and of Garama. The honor was presented to Chev. Butler by the Count Grand Master on behalf of His Highness Prince William.
Additionally, outstanding Knights Chevalier Sir James Smith and Chevalier Sir John Bennett were promoted by the Count Grand Master to the rank of Knight Officer of the Holy Sepulchre.
The Rt. Hon. Chev. Sir Ian Carman, Grand Seneschal
After many years of service to chivalry and the Order, Dame Andrea Munson completed her "tour of duty" as Grand Seneschal of the Order. The new Grand Seneschal is The Rt. Hon. Chev. Sir Ian Carman.
Chevalier Carman is completing his Master's Degree in History at the University of Northern Colorado. The Chevalier is active in many religious, spiritual, fraternal and philanthropic organizations and charities. Chevalier Carman is a quality assurance specialist in computer technical support.
The Count Grand Master Shows the Grand Cross Brevet
His Highness Count Juliusz Nowina-Sokolnicki, Grand Master of The Order of St. Stanislaus, named Count Maxalla to the rank and dignity of Knight Grand Cross of St. Stanislaus. The award was originally to be made in person to Count Maxalla by Count Sokolnicki at special ceremonies in New York. When circumstances prevented Count Maxalla from attending, His Highness Count Sokolnicki sent the Rt. Hon. Chev. John Bennett (shown above, left) to represent His Highness and to grant the Grand Cross on his behalf to Count Maxalla.
At the same ceremonies, Count Maxalla was also greatly honored to be named an Honorary Colonel in the international military organiztion, The League of Frontiersmen. The Grand Master was further pleased to receive the honor of the Grand Cross of the Ordo Militaris, an honor body within The Frontiersmen (read more about The Frontiersmen by clicking HERE).
