Airway Structural Repair

Airway Structural Repair rebuilt all of the control surfaces for DeHavilland Beaver N2297N.  The need arose as factory skins were currently no longer available for replacement parts.  This meant the fabrication of special tooling to allow the corrugations to be formed from new sheet aluminum.  As a result of this single project, Airway Structural repair now has the ability to provide any Beaver owner/maintenance professional with new corrugated sheet aluminum suitable for rebuilding Beaver flight control surfaces.   Shown below are some images of what is available.

For those of you who did not "surf" to this page from the Beaver, just click here to see N2297N.

This is a piece of the corrugated sheet aluminum overlaid on an old skin.  The corrugations are 3" on center.  As you can tell, the new sheet aluminum overlays the old skin perfectly.  To accomplish this, the corrugations on our sheet aluminum are slightly larger than factory original.  This removes stress at the bend points, and cracking tendencies similar to Cessna surfaces are minimized.  (Our Cessna sheet aluminum is sized the same as original.)  As a result, we recommend the replacement of both top and bottom skins to retain a more favorable view of the surface from the rear.
Left and right corrugated sheet aluminum that will fit the rudder are $190 each.  The sheet aluminum has 17 corrugations and measures 26" X 56".
We have corrugated sheet aluminum for wing flight control surfaces.  They come with 18, 22, and 23 corrugations.  The 18 corrugation material for the ailerons measures 57" X 12 1/8" and is  $105.  The 22 and 23 corrugation material for the flaps measure 70" X 12 1/8" and are $125 each.  There are a different number of corrugations for the inboard and outboard skins of the flaps.
Here we have corrugated sheet aluminum for the top and bottom of the elevators.  They are priced at $190 ea.

All sheet aluminum will need trimming to length.

The prices quoted above do not include shipping and handling charges.
